    Default December 1, 1943, mission in Brittany(Lorient)

    Hello,

December 1, 1943, we lost the Mosquito HX962 (487 Sqdn) and the second VI Mosquito HJ656 (157 Sqdn). At sea
I have the ORB for 266 Sqdn and 193 Sqdn mission that day attacks on boats in Lorient. I wonder if the two of Mosquito 487 and 157 Sqdn were together on the same mission.
    Cordialement,
    Regards,
    Mit freundlichem Gruß,

    Dan

    Hi,

Mosquito production list gives the following :

HX962 FB Mk VI Hit sea attacking ship off Groux 1/12/43.
HJ656 NF Mk II Missing 1/12/43.

HX962 may have been involved, but it is hard to see what role HJ656, a night fighter, would have in a daylight attack on shipping.
