W9202 (not V9202) was coded L.
Are you sure about the other serial?

Evening all,
I am trying to find the codes carried by Hurricanes V6985 Sgt. Hill and V9202 Sgt. Srom 245 Sqn. when they intercepted a Do17or Do215 over Ireland 29 May 1941. The Dornier got away. Many thanks.

Thank you JohnE and for the correction, not sure if I transcribed it incorrectly from the ORB. Found it as you state for the previous evening when the two Hurricanes scrambled from Limavady. Probably an age thing on my part!
The serial V6985 appears to be correct and is listed in the Air Britain serial publication as having 245 Sqn service
Thanks again.
Tony K
Yes, V6985 was with 245 Squadron, but that was back in November 1940, I think. It was coded H then.

Thanks again John, I noted, as my last post says that it (V6985) was scrambled from Limavady by Sgt Hill with Sgt. Srom in W9202 at 21.00hrs. Do you have further information about this and the other aircraft of 245 Sqn.?
Regards
Tony K
Sorry, I have no more details. Except I think it was 9 AM - not PM.
John
Hi all,
I would be interested if you come up with any photos or additional info for W9202. It belly landed not far from my home on 1st September 1941 whilst serving with 59 OTU. It came down in a field near Falstone, Northumberland.
