    Malcolm,

That is a great help. Thanks.

I had a problem with 123243 F/O Edwin Ephraim MACKAY. The CWGC has him commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial ! 1621425 LAC Eric John GRAVES, and 1145121 F/Sgt Thomas William THOMPSON are both on the Singapore Memorial.

I believe the CWGC is in error about MACKAY.

    1-6-1944
    No.3 TAF Comm. Sqn.
    Anson I LT893

    Missing between Lanka and Imphal.

    1378512 P/O Edwin Ephraim MACKAY RAFVR +
1621425 LAC Eric John GRAVES RAFVR + (No.11 Sqn.).
    1145121 F/Sgt Thomas William THOMPSON* RAFVR +

These three airmen are all listed as Missing in Flight. 28 September, 1944. p.354. Cas. Comm. No.427. Later amended to, Previously Reported Missing, Now Presumed Killed in Action.

    * Thompson also commemorated on the Lurgan War Memorial, Lurgan, Co. Armagh, NI.

    Col
Ancestry has a probate record for Mackay, stating DoD 01 Jun 44 and giving an adress of 8 St Aidens Rd, Carlisle and an estate of 265 3s 9d, but cant find a GRO.

    Hi Col

I had those three as possibly being killed in an unknown Anson, which fits nicely, together with MUHAMMAD SALEH ALI (786364) age: Unknown RAFVR

    Hello Malcolm,

That's interesting. SALEH ALI is not on the crew listing that l have. I can't find his name in Flight. September 28 1944, p.354. Cas. Comm. No.427. Nor is he mentioned in the later listing.

    Tell me more, please.

    Hi Col

I cannot be certain he was on board I assumed him as a possible due to him being on the Singapore Memorial on the same date.
