    Default 3 OAFU Anson

    Hi,

3 OAFU lost an Anson due to engine failure on 2nd June, 1944 while conducting a navex. I understand the crew were New Zealanders and that there was no loss of life. Despite a search through 'The Anson File' I can find no trace of this loss which leads me to assume that the aircraft probaly came down over land and was repaired.

Does anybody have the ORB for 3 OAFU for this date? If so I would be really grateful if you could check if it contains any details on this loss.

    Thank you

    Stevie

    Good Morning Stevie,

May I suggest you try EG424, an Anson I which crashed at Ballykelly following engine failure.

I have confirmed no RNZAF fatals by checking Errol Martyn's books but have no further details of the loss. I got this aircraft serial from some info given me sometime ago by a chap called Chris Campbell, so this acknowledges his research.

    Hi Steve,

I can confirm the info from Colin.
