    Default M H G Gardeniers

    Hello all,

Who can please provide more details on M H G Gardeniers. He was a Dutchman and joined the RAF. As a gunner he took part in several missions against Germany. Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,
    Rob

    Rob,
His Obit is at http://www.natzweiler.nl/downloads/nb-juli-2004.pdf, p.9.(regret my Dutch = zero, but you can probably get the drift until one of our Dutch colleagues translates).

    Hello Peter,

Thank you for your reply - his orbit was already known to me. Will translate the rough outline relating to RAF.

He had hidden himself by an aunt in Maastricht when he was called for "Arbeitseinsatz" (working for the Germans). When Maastricht was liberated in September 1944 he went to England, followed a course in the army and transfered to RAF in Scotland. He became a rear gunner. Due to an illnes he only flew several bombing missions to Germany. He left the RAF in 1947.

In which unit did he fly, any details on his missions?

    Best regards.
    Rob
