    P/O Davidson Malcolm Stuart - 42 Squadron 85981 RAFVR died 21/03/1942 buried CWGC Plot Darlington Co Durham

    former pupil of Nairobi School Kenya

    Does anyone have any information on this casualty

    Took off 20/3/42, 17:46 hrs on a shipping strike from RAF Sumburgh

    P/O M S Davidson
    Sgt R Lemmon
    Sgt Winfield
    Sgt Tsitselis

    Crashed in forced landing near Croft at 01:00 hrs after low cloud and r/t failure prevented the correct landfall. Both Sgt Lemmon and P/O Davidson are buried in Darlington West Cemetery, County Durham.

    776000 to 776199 Jul 1940 Local enlistments in Middle East (British, Maltese and Cypriots). If heís a Sgt Pilot by Apr 41, and he didnít Enlist until just after Jul 40, it seems he might very well have had previous flying experience?

    George TSITSELIS on CWGC went missing in 1943 Peter,
    different year, different incident.

    I take it by the missing initials in Ross's information that only Davidson and Lemmon died on W6472. Note that Winfield is not on CWGC.

    AIR78 shoudl tell us howm many TSITSELIS there were/roughly.

    I downloaded the AIR78 file and there is but one Tsitselis listed in that index, the unfortunate George Tsitelis 946761
