    Default Wellington formation lights

    Hi, Forumites
I know it's a somewhat obtuse request, but has anyone any idea as to the colours of the two formation lights fitted on the rudder of a Wellington? - the upper one may have been white. We have lights fitted on the Wellington at Brooklands, but they have been "blacked-out" and the wiring removed. It is possible that the lights were only fitted/used pre-war; I don't imagine they would be on during night time excursions over Germany!!

    Hi Andy,

as far as I remember there were two white lights on the rudder, position and formation, position red one on the front side of left wing tip, formation white one on the rear side of left wing tip, the similar situation on the right wing tip only the red replaced by green.
