    Default Released under Class B

In a letter dated 28/8-45 in Aarhus, Denmark the writer tells about a RAF flyer/soldier based in Vandel airbase. This flyer/soldier is to be released under Class B.
    What does that mean ?

    Soren,

There were two classes of release during demobilization.

Class A releases were based on an age and length of service formula.

Class B releases were granted to skilled tradesmen and professionals such as doctors, engineers, school teachers, etc., that were required immediately to meet the needs of civilian industry and services.
