    Default El Shubra

Does anybody have info on RAF El Shubra ?
This was an RAF unit on the outskirts of Cairo in Egypt.
I believe that there was a hospital there in the 1940s/50s.

    Phil,

As early as WW I there was a "military infectious hospital" in the Choubra/Shubra district of Cairo.

I don't know if it still was running in WW II. Hospital at Great Bitter Lakes seemed to have taken over much of its duties. See first chapter of following story: http://www.scadding.net/churchill.htm

    Regards,

    Leendert
