Default RAF Forum - 5th Anniversary

    Hi all,

I do not know you you already noted but this month it was 5 years from the moment Ross migrated his great forum to this new form.

I would like to thank Ross for his great effort to keep this forum going on and to allow us to help each other and be in touch in our small "RAF Forum community"

Yes, a major well done, and also we should applaud the other things Ross does for enthusiasts. I suspect many who use shortcuts to come directly to this forum aren't aware of the information and services on the main website: have a look!

Big pat on the back due.

    Aw shucks!

This is the third generation board.

Generation two was June 2001 to Nov 2007 for the DCForum until the spammers overwhelmed the guest post logic.

Prior to that Generation one Disc.server.com had a short existence from June 1999 there was a message board that did not support archive and was for the moment only.

Having said that Wayback captured a snapshot of the early boards.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20010607055731/http://disc.server.com/Indices/55017.html

All the thoughts that you lot cared to post from June 2001 to date are all stored in the archives and every word accessible to current google (other search engines are available!) access.

Quite a body of collected knowledge.

    Thanks
    Ross

What a nice surprise Ross! On the first page of the link there are few of my first posts ever from June 2001 when doing research for my first book. What a piece of history! On the other hand it reminds me I am getting older:)

    Many thanks Ross once more

Yes, A hearty well done! Having said that, damned if I can get the link to work, never can and I use three browsers. Its a continual pain in the nether regions.

Pavel. 'Getting older'? You're just a boy yet, most of the 'kids' I went to school with are in the next place, wherever that may be.

    Best Wishes.
    Robert.

    Default Catering For Minority Issues

    Ross,
The great thing about this Forum is that it enables Minority Users to communicate with each other, and to use the expertise of others (in the LG, GRO, TNA, KRs/ACIs, (and World-Wide Equivalents), etc, etc, etc, ad infinitum!) to further their researches.
Whenever I see a #1 Post from a Newcomer to the Forum asking the most obscure and arcane question I think "How long will it be before The Expert In That Field will pitch up?" Usually within a few days - often within a few hours!!
