    Default RAF Turnhouse

Does anyone know if where I may find the station logs for RAF Turnhouse? I have tried the National Archives online search but it comes up blank.
    Thanking you

Which period are you after? You have to use the advanced search function on the stupid shiny new catalogue to find anything vaguely useful and even then you have to find the search by reference instead of clicking on the list of areas (that would only get you AIR not AIR 28).

    AIR 28/861, 862, 863, 864, 865 cover 1936 to 1945

    AIR 28/1138 covers 1946 to 1956

In addition to these you can try the ORBs of units stationed at Turnhouse, they may even contain more detail than the actual station ORB.

    Peter,

This really repeats what Alan has told you, but to search for Turnhouse go to http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp?j=1 and enter "Turnhouse" in the first box, the year range of interest, and Air in the last. I had 17 hits for the period 1935 to 1950.
