    Default 29 Squadron Help Please!

    Hello,

I'm rying to get information on a Pilot Officer Ormonde Arthur Logie (77360). I know he was an airgunner and was an acting PO on probation c. 3rd Feb. 1940. Also that he was graded as PO on probation c. 16th March 1940 & that he relinquished his commission on grounds of ill health 30th April 1941. I also know he flew in Blenheims with 29 (Nightfighter) Sqdrn. during the B-o-B. Does anyone know anything else about him please - aircraft codes/his pilot, anything regarding his ill health, when he died etc?
Any help at all would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    David

There are postwar entries for Ormonde Arthur Logie as part of Sewell, Rawlins & Logie Solicitors, based in Cirencester in the LG. The last entry was 1965 (though this not be an indication of death or aything).

It is such an unusual name that it may be worth contacting the local newspaper to see whether they posted any death notice or obit (he may still be alive though) as a way of checking if it is the same person.

    Default 29 Squadron Help Please!

    Hi Dave,

As I said he is mentioned in 'The Battle of Britain - Then and Now V' so you could pick a date in the B of B and order a few 29 sqdn ORB entries and see if he is there. I know you are trusting to luck a bit but you never know.

We know he will be listed between June and August as 29 moved to Beaufighters in September.

Maybe someone on the commands website has the 29 ORB for this period and could help?

    Russ
