Default Flt. Lt. Angus McLeod, 248 (C) Sqdn.

Can anyone tell me the circumstances surrounding the death of 49791 Flt. Lt. Angus McLeod with 248 (C) Squadron on 25 March 1945, please? Being a Coastal Command squadron, it does not appear in Franks' FCL, of course. Any information would be most appreciated.

    Thanks
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

From ' A Seperate Little War' by Andy Bird. Flt Lt MacLead and W/O Wheeley were shot down by two Fw190s over Vilnesfjord on 25 March 1945. No serial number but the Mosquitos individual letter was 'V'.

    Steve,
I've serial RS633 (Missing, presumed shot down by fighters 70 miles W of Solund); perhaps Ross could confirm.

    Regards,
    Henk.

    Hi,
I came across this forum when I was searching my great uncle Angus McLeod. I realise that these comments were posted a number of years ago but I was wondering if anyone had any further information or Photographs of Angus McLeod. I do have some newspapers clippings possibly from the mid 70's - 80's that my grandfather (Angus's brother) sent to us. From the newspaper article it reads that these photographs were donated to the Penarth RAFA Club in Wales.

    Cheers,
    Phil Bywater
