    Does anyone have a date of birth and any information on this pilot between Aug 1935 and Nov 1939, please?

    Steve,
    As far as his date of birth goes you will only get that from his birth certificate. The family, of which there appears to be none, would have access probably. Only other thing to do is apply for it. His birth certificate is held by the Civic Center, Newcastle upon Tyne and will cost round about a tenner.

    His training etc will be found in his personnel records via Cranwell who now hold these. Cost was 25 but may well be much higher now.

    Sorry it's not exactly what you're after, but I do know he was a pupil at the RGS (Royal Grammar School) in Jesmond, Newcastle, as he's commemorated on their Roll of Honour. He joined the school in September 1926, and left in March 1931.

    Thanks Robert, but I'm trying to get details on about 100 men, so as much as I would like to order all the records and birth certs I need, it's just not financially viable.
