    Default Spitfire I P9386, 57 OTU, 5 May 1944

Spitfire P9386 from 57 OTU, Hawarden, is recorded as having dived into the ground at Dean Dykes, 2.5km from Cockburnspath on 5 May 1944. I am seeking the pilot's name - it may have been a Belgian serving in the RAF by the name of Dillien. The aircraft seems to have had a busy career being involved in the shooting down of several enemy aircraft.

    Thanks Col & Jim

PS - Hi Jim - I am still only at the aircraft names starting with the letter 'B' in my digitisation from index card project (c.1,200 entries done so far), however, MS Access97 remains a pain in the a**e!

    Hi Keith,
    Agree with Col and Jim.
P9386 did see combat when Sqn Ldr. Brian Lane shot down a Bf110 of Stab II, ZG2 near North Weald.
