Slightly OT, but related. All Forms A and B for Berlin operations during the Battle of Berlin give the AP as a bearing and distance from "Berlin 'B'". Grateful if someone could confirm what Berlin 'B' was?

    Many thanks,

    Richard

Can anyone tell me what M25A was? I suspect it was a canal, possibly Kiel, as 61 Sqn were practising on the River Ancholme, five miles east of Kirton in Lindsey on 17 June 1940 prior to the attack.

I have been researching the use of UK canals used practice bombing ranges in WW2 and have confirmed one, Foxcote, and suspect another two or three were also used but cannot confirm these. I believe only inert bombs were dropped on the Foxcote range as this would have been for mining operations and not bombing. Foxcote was not an active canal at that time so the other suspects may have been simulated bombing only.

I have M25 as a viaduct over the Dortmund-Ems Canal north of Munster

Thanks. I wonder if the 'A' suffix was for a specific part of the canal as I doubt they were practising for the viaduct.

    Dear PNK,

M.25 referred to the old aquaduct over the Dortmund-Ems Canal, M.25a to the new aquaduct.

    Regards,
    Hans

    Hi!

I wonder, if there is a good reference book, compiled with all the RAF bomber command targets and target codes?
    If so, where to find?
