Default RAF Bomber Command Target Number Refs

    Gents,

Need help identifying the following targets :

    A.336 - A.248 - B.40 - B.101

The period is 1940. Has anyone a list of targets with these references they can share?

    Kind regards

    Hi Bill,

Not a problem. I have A.10 Oil Plant Hamburg. I have over the last few days been working on a list with the help of Hans, I have to date 231 codes. There are hundreds more !!!

    Hi Mark,

Thank you for taking the time to look this up.

I am at the NA next week and Air20/2060 will be the first file I look up and copy.

    Thanks again.

    Default TNA Industrial Action

    Hello Steve

I really hope it covers all the 1940 types besides 1940 oil, I seem to think so. I was always very religious about recording the file number, file cover title (and any original file refs on the cover in other cases), before making any notes immediately underneath. You will note the TNA description is similar.

    INDUSTRIAL ACTION
By the way on Wednesday 20th March, the National Archives are having Industrial Action and suggesting Readers don't go, due to slow production times when ordering documents. See TNA web-page.

We waited 1.5 to 2 hours on a previous industrial action for file production and had no advance order!

    Regards Mark

    Hello Steve

When you looked at that AIR 20 file, did you come across a mid August 1940 Target for Royan France, near the mouth of the Gironde?
    Thanks

Slightly OT, but related. All Forms A and B for Berlin operations during the Battle of Berlin give the AP as a bearing and distance from "Berlin 'B'". Grateful if someone could confirm what Berlin 'B' was?

    Many thanks,

    Richard
