Default Royal Hellenic AF Spitfire Losses 1945

    Dear Members,

First of all, as a new member to the forum I would like to say hello to all and every one of you.
As you may see from signature I am a member of Hellenic AF Museum, Dekelia (Tatoi) Athens, Greece. Further than my exhibits maintenance duties, I am also researching the RHAF History 1935-1950, a period that RHAF aircraft inventory was made up mainly of British made ones.
Under this perspective I am trying to locate the Spitfire Mk.Vb/c lost during 1945 (Jan. to Dec.). The type was operational with 335 & 336 Sqns which until July 1946 was belonging to RAF/337Wing. I have already the Operations Record Books of both Sqns but the problem is that after February 1945 the Form 540 is (was) very sketchy and the Form 541 not completed.
The only aircraft I known been those involved on the accident of 27/2/45 in which W/Cdr. Woodruff was lost, for 335 Sqn; and the aircraft involved on the accident of 18/01/45 (as for January there is Form 541) for 336 Sqn
So from the Form 540 I have the following extracts 335 Sqn first, and I would be grateful is someone could help short this out

    Hi Ioannis.

I can only give a little extra information:

1 27/02/45 MA507 MA397 A mid air collision between the leader of the formation W/Cdr. Woodruff and F/Lt. Baltadzis of 336 (H) Sqn. W/Cdr. Woodruff killed. F/Lt. Baltadzis force landed. (ORB pg.139/2)

Woodruff was flying MA507 (coded PHW).

3 04/04/45 The loss of W/O NIKOLOPOULOS, whose aircraft crashed into the sea near Bouliagmeni after taking off on one of the searches, was deeply regretted by everyone on the Squadron. (ORB pg. 222/1).

Nikolopoulos was flying ER194 (coded N). Source: Spitfire International.
