    Both these are taken from the Charterhall Story:

    How about Barracuda II P9865, August 2nd 1943. Engine failure, landed at Winfield, 1st Officer Johns unhurt? Not really Northumberland though...

    Or an unidentified Barracuda, crashed near Berwick on March 6th 1946? Quite a lot later than 1943 though...

    Hi Simon,

    Not sure it is the Winfield one, don't have my notes to hand. Aircraft was en route to Prestwick and it was observed by the a lady manning the Observer Corps post to be in difficulty, it was one of a flight of two. Aircraft definitely a wartime crash.
