Can anyone tell me the pilot of the Hurricane L1937 of 3 Sqn which crashed 6 m S of Dorking,Kilhanger,Albury, Surrey on 10.10.1939 according to AB Serials it was Abandoned

Hello Paul

According to the Squadron ORB, it was F/L GAUNCE. In Hurricane L1937 whilst he was in cloud, he found he was spinning and so he bailed out. Accident occured at 2300 or it was the time of take-off. He was back at the station at 0245 on the 11th.
