    Default 35 Squadron Losses (22/12/1941)

Can anyone shed any light on the circumstances surrounding the following comment found in the 35 Squadron ORB's:

"Sgt Merrifield and Sgt Denning killed in flying accident whilst on Active Service"

Sgt Leslie Merrifield 702345 and Sgt James Albert Denning 939302 are both recorded on CWGC with date of death as 22 December 1941

Any help would be much appreciated

    Regards

    Pete

    Hello Pete,

The answer is on page 13 of Bomber Command Losses Vol 8 by W R Chorley. They died when Halifax L9522 of 28 Conversion Flight crashed in adverse weather.
