Default Tettenborn Bros in the RAF

    Hi all:
I have been contacted by Neville Skinner, a local historian, regarding the RAF service of two brothers, Philip Arthur DeGleichen Tettenborn (1912-1990) and Anthony Roger Tettenborn (1919-2006).

Philip originally joined the RAF in 1932 and served in India. He subsequently flew with Imperial Airways. He was recalled from the reserve during the war and served as a Flt Lt. He became a PoW in Oflag 22C (PoW No.117)but Neville does not have any information regarding his unit or capture.

Anthony was RAF(VR) , a Sgt Navigator by Nov 1941 and commissioned (108048) by May 1942. Flew Wellingtons on 9 Sqn at Honington. Won DFC together with his pilot for low-level attack on Warnemunde, May 1942. Ag Sqn Ldr June 1944.

RAF Bomber Command researcher Bill Chorley has kindly provided me with some service details and promotions, etc., on the two.

What I am keen to establish are the unit and circumstances of the capture of Philip. I am hoping that somebody on this learned forum may be able to help.

    TIA,

    BC

    Hi,

    I have a note against 29251 F/L P.A de G TETTENBORN - POW 22/5/1940 - BOAC

I'm sure this will generate more useful information.
