Default Acting Leading Airman Frederick Shadbolt NZ7793 died 17.11.44.

From the ORB of No.14 Service Flying Training School, Kingston Ontario:
17.11.44 No. NZ7793 A/LA F.J. Shadbolt was killed this date in an aircraft crash. Aircraft was totally damaged.

14 SFTS was equipped with about 100 Harvards and 8 Anson.

Can anyone identify the actual aircraft involved, please?

I'm away from my notes for the rest of the day, but I have portions of the 31/14 SFTS diary at home. I will check into this later this evening, to see if I have more info.

Good morning ( Or should I say Eveing to you!) Freshman,

Would you like a portrait photograph of SHADBOLT? Just contact me at awarculus@xtra.co.nz

By the way a note in Errol Martyn's 'For Your Tomorrow' mentiones Shadbolt lost a brother (Donald Raymond) on 11 February 1952 while flying with 827 Squadron FAA.

    Regards,
    'Digger' (Ex Surrey man)

Thank you everone for your help.

I just looked at "Harvard!" by Fletcher and MacPhail which confirms FE466 as Cat A with 14 SFTS on 17.11.44.

The suggested links were most helpful.

    Thanks again, Freshman

Finally found my notes on 14 SFTS, looks like the New Zealand web page is based on the School diary. Nothing to add, I'm afraid.
