    Hello Pavel,

The AB "P" serial number book states "Engine cut on take off, swung and hit hedge, Wilts. April 27, 1944"

68 sqdn were based at Fairwood Common in Wales at this time , so if the crash occurred in Wiltshire there is still the question of where ?

I don't know if the AB serials book has it, but the Oxford Consul & Envoy File has a map reference, 502495. The reference is possibility vU502495 which is 51 03' 38'' N 1 54' 28'' W and plots just west of Salisbury.

    Good day.
Thank you for the excellent information.
    Only a very small question.
    Airfield Salisbury = Old Sarum (N:51 05 56 W:001 47 03)?
    Regards Pavel
