    Default interception & tactics, 7/8 January 1944

    hello,

In case a forumite might have the interception & tactics report from R.A.F. Bomber Command for the night 7th/8th January 1944, I'd like to know if there's a mention about a Dornier Do-217J (from NJG 101 actually) crashing south-west of St Omer (France) that night ? Could this have been the result of an air battle either with R.A.F. night fighters or with bombers ?

I'm also interested in this file reference at Kew.

    TIA

    Joss

    Hi Joss,

Have checked my copy and there is no mention of ANYTHING other than sorties etc. The report concludes "There is nothing of interest to report".

The Interception / Tactics Report is number 7/44 and is found within Air14/3376.

If you pm me I may have something you maybe interested in.

    Kind regards

    hello Steve,

Thanks for confirming the content of the interception & tactics report for that night. There's no much info in Michael Balss volumes on German night fighter losses, this Dornier Do-217J loss is only a material loss, no name of crew given, no circumstances. I was wondering if the loss was due to enemy action or not.

I send you a PM as requested

    Cheers

    Joss
