    Default Spitfire X4068, 26 March 1944

Spitfire X4068 of 1 TEU, Tealing, was abandoned in the air 26 March 1944 and crashed at Tibbermore, Perthshire, does anyone please have the i/d of the pilot? The same a/c was the one in which S/L 'Sailor' Malan had destroyed a Ju88 and got a 'probable on another on 11 September 1940.

    The ORB gives:

March 26th 1944, “Flying accident to Spitfire IA X4068, Pilot 575364 Sgt Epps, E.A.T. baled out when his engine developed a glycol leak – smoke completely obscuring his vision. He landed safely.”
