    Default Berlin Raid (23rd / 24th August 1943)

A couple of questions regarding this operation:

Firstly, does anyone have the co-ordinates for the route for this operation?. I have the ones from the Night Raid Report, but they appear to be incomplete.

Secondly, can anyone advise on where "Gassen nr Gentheim" is located. It is one of the Luftwaffe Claims for that night but I can't work out the co-ordinates.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards

    Pete

    re: location

Unable to trace location as given in your thread, BUT, given the target for the raid and the likely route(s) outbound/inbound, I believe (especially if relating to 426s Lancaster [DS676], that this was probably the small village of Güsen, situated about 15km SW of the town of Genthin. Both are in Sachsen-Anhalt, roughly midway between Magdeburg and Potsdam. Does anyone know differently?

Thanks for the feedback; the location makes sense based on the timings that I have, so I will work on that basis to see if I can establish if one of the Halifax was lost in this area.

    Regards (and thanks again)
