On the 5-6 September 1943, the raid to Mannheim, Lancaster ED416 of 49 Squadron was shot down. I understand that there may be speculation that four (possibly 5) crew members who bailed out safely, were summarily executed by civilians/military. A Mr Rod Price, cousin of Sgt Batty, was researching the incident. Mr Price passed away a couple of years ago and his widow has moved away to a place unknown. Any information would be appreciated.
