803 Sqn Hurricane shot down by RAF Tomahawks 1941-ish?

Hello everyone

I'm looking for any details about an 803 Sqn Hurricane, shot down by an RAF Tomahawk. The only details I have are that it was possibly some time in 1941, and the Hurricane was flown by FAA pilot Philip Noel Charlton.

Not much to go on, but can anyone add any details?

Hi Simon

Date appears to be 20 Nov 1941.

12 Tomahawks of 250 sqn provided cover for 11 Hurricanes for a sweep and just south of Bir el Gubi met up with Ju 87 s of I/StG1 and Bf 109 s of JG 27. Charlton claimed 3 Ju 87 before being forced down by a Tomahawk. Charlton in W9327 "M"
Later awarded DFC for this action, being credited with 3 Ju 87 and Ju87 probable.

I wasn't sure if the friendly fire incident took place on the same day as the shooting down of the three Ju-87s, so thank you for clearing that up, and for the Hurricane's details too.
