The crash was recorded in the No.2 AGS ORB as the accident occurred at Dalcross, there wasn't anything in the 8 AGS ORB, their last crash related entry was March 1942 and there was a month end statement in July.
May 21st 1942, “Blackburn Botha aircraft No.W5180 from R.A.F. Evanton crashed on aerodrome. F/Sgt Telfer I 1059804, LAC Hutt L. 1216327, Cpl Gournac E.A. F.F. 30764 were killed instantaneously, LAC Aubrey E F.F. 30764 died shortly afterwards.”
May 21st 1942, “Blackburn Botha aircraft No.W5180 from R.A.F. Evanton crashed on this Aerodrome at approximately 17.35 hours. Rear Gunner LAC Aubrey, E. F.F.30756 was extricated from the gun turret, removed to S.S.Q. for emergency treatment and then transferred to Fort George Military Hospital where he subsequently died from shock resulting from third degree burns to right hand and right leg and extensive second degree burns to the rest of his body. The other three occupants of the aircraft, F/Sgt Ian Telfer 1059804, LAC Leslie Hutt 1216327 1216327, Cpl Ernest Alexander Gournac F.F.30764 received severe multiple injuries from which they almost certainly were instantly killed and were subsequently grossly burned. The bodies were eventually removed from the aircraft and transferred to the Station Mortuary. Death Certificates for these three airmen were rendered by this Station. All other details were rendered by R.A.F. Evanton.”
