Default Czech ex-RAF pilot gen. Zdenek Skarvada died

With the great sadness I would like to inform forum members that another Czech pilot left us:

Zdenek Skarvada was one of few Czechoslovak pilots who started their fight already in Poland in September 1939. Later was interned in Soviet Union and finally sailed to the UK where he joined No. 310 (Czechoslovak) Fighter Squadron. He failed to return operational flight on 4.2.42 as he was forced to bale out over the Channel and the rest of war he spent in captivity. After 1948 he was persecuted by the communist regime and was fired out from the air force. He was working in mines and other labour professions. Motto "Keep floating" which came to his mind when he was in a dinghy on the sea accompany him for the rest of his life.
