Default Squadron 266 "b" flight activity on 25/12/44

    Hi,

I'm looking for the take off time of squadron 266 "B" flight mission on 25/12/1944. They were stationed at Antwerp and were on a recce over the Dingden area in Germany.

Hopefully someone out there could be of assistance.

    Hi JonV,

    Air 27-1559 (orb of 266 Squadron) mentions t/o at 10h30, landing 12h05.

    Best regards from Belgium

    Hi all,

Reason for my query is to try and establish the identity of the german pilot who shot down Scott Eadie who was a 266 typhoon pilot shot down on 25/12/44.

266 were doing a photo recce over Dingden when Scott Eadie was shot down. He landed at Aalten in Netherlands and spent the rest of the war as a POW in Stalag Luft 1. Aalten being very close to Dingden.

Andrew Arthey on Axishistoryforum has given very valuable information and suggests it was most probably a pilot from 111 gruppe JG26 who claimed 2x Tempests on the morning of 25/12/44 whilst on their way to a target further south. Their flight path would have gone almost over Dingden.

Andrew was unable to provide the names of the successful pilots.

Maybe there is someone on this forum who can add something.

    JonV
