Default Name of 611 Sqn victory claimant, Circus 2, 5 Feb 41

    Hi all

I am trying to establish the full and correct name of a pilot who shared a probable Me109 with Plt Off Wilfred Duncan Smith during Circus 2 on 5 February 1941. With Allan Hillman's assistance, we have established that...

    - The 11 Group ORB Appendix identifies him as Sgt Plt A. Gilligin
    - In his book, 'Spitfire into Battle', Duncan Smith identifies him as Sgt Gilegin
    - Tony Woods' website identifies him as Sgt Gillegan

Does anyone have the 611 Sqn ORB for February 1941, or can someone otherwise definitively identify Gilligin/Gilegin/Gillegan, please?

    Thanks

    Brilliant! Thanks Pavel.

That's my man, but I note his correct name is actually yet another spelling of the name: Gillegin!

Any wonder I couldn't find him

    Cheers

    Hello

The spelling is Gillegin in "Beware ! Beware !" by Aldon P. Ferguson. There are 3 pages with mentions of him in the book including two pictures.

Appendix with the victory claims shows him as Sgt A. Gillegin.
