    Hi,

The only likely candidate I can find is Anson Mark I DJ639 of 10 RS ( Radio School ? ) which dived into the Irish Sea near Tuskar Rock ( about 10 km south-east of Rosslare Harbour, Ireland ) during a Wireless Telegraphy training flight on 25/4/44.

    Crew : Flt-Lt R.I. Johnson RAFVR, Flt-Sgt R.J. Tudehope RAAF, Flt-Sgt S.J.H. Young RAAF, and AC2 R.R. Carr RAFVR.

Only AC2 Carr has a known grave, the other men are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

    Evening all
I agree with Pavel, the times do not add up. There was a missing Anson and as well as 68 Sqn searching, 281 Sqn scrambled a Warwick from Great Orton at 09.28 to search for a missing Anson and searched the West Wales and Irish Sea area. The Anson at Tuskar Rock was in the late afternoon. We have to find another missing Anson

    Hi,

The following day, the 26th, Warwick ASR Mk I BV409 of 281 Sqdn stalled and crashed while circling a lifeboat. I presume the lifeboat was one that the aircraft had dropped to survivors in the water.

The location was near Puffin Island, which is off the south-west coast of Ireland.

I think there could be a connection here.

    Hello,

No.281 Sqn. Warwick BV409, was nowhere near the south-west coast of Ireland on the 26-4-1944.

The Puffin Island referred to, is off the eastern tip of Anglesey, Wales.

    Thanks to all
Find Anson sunken in the sea is very difficult. Today probably not feasible.
    Thank you again.
    Regards Pavel
