    Default Sgt Ray Chandler

From an unknown source I have a reference to a Sgt Ray Chandler RAF/RAFVR of Birkenhead who had 6 kills when he was awarded the DFM in October 1940. Can anyone tell me anything about him.

Wynn's 'Men of the Battle of Britain' has Horatio Herbert Chandler, 106245, with 610 Sqn.

Born 1917, joined 610 RAuxAF in March 1936. Qualified as a Sgt Pilot in March 1940, and rejoined 610 Sqn in April.
He was credited with 6 victories, including 3 x Bf-109, 1 x Do-215, and he was awarded the DFM which was Gazetted on October 22nd 1940.
He was commissioned in June 1941, and received the Air Force Cross in April 1943. He was released as a Flight Lt in 1946, and he was recommissioned as a P/O in the RAFVR Training Branch in June of that year.
