Paul, I have checked the 1938 RAF List. There is no H.M. Stuart/Stewart. Regards, Terry

    Hi Paul

Perhaps Stuart and Proctor were retired officers working in Aden as Civil Servants and therefore entitled to be referred to by their ranks but not in the RAF at the time?

Must admit I wondered if they were retired I had a look in London gazette to see If I could get a hot hoping someone here could look in earlier air force
List maybe mid 1930s or late 1920's but would have expected them to be on retired list

Maybe not officers at all I will look at Air 78 though

I think I have solved this...

    Same Cemetery (MAALA CEMETERY)

DAWES, Squadron Leader, Henry Marcus Stewart, Equipment & Supplies. Royal Air Force. 1st - 31st August 1939.

I can see how this could turn into

    STUART, Squadron Leader, H M, Royal Air Force. 1st January - 31st December 1939.

Dawes Died 2nd August 1939 after short illness in Aden.
