Default Help needed for 615 squadron hurricane serial number December 1940

    Dear all,

I am trying to locate the serial number for a hurricane flown by Jocelyn Millard in December 1940.
The hurricane in question was flown by him on December 17th and according to his log book was KW-J.

On this date he patrolled the Maidstone line at 10,000 feet.

I am having a model made for me which I would like to be accurate.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance that you may be able to offer me.

    Regards

    Gerry

    Hello.

P/O Millard force-landed Hurricane P5201 at Little Bayhall Farm, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, on 21/11/1940 The aircraft was damaged. Does P/O Millard's Log Book identify the Hurricane he flew on the 21/11/1940, by letter or serial ?

    Hi,

All of his entries are identified by letter which is frustrating.
Anyhow, the aircraft he flew on 21st November is listed as 'D'.
On this date his log book states that he flew a 2 hour patrol of the Maidstone line. He comments that he force landed at Tunbridge Wells.
Interestingly, on November 14th he crash landed at Heath row landing in the evening.
    regards

    Gerry

    Hello,

Have you seen the photo of P/O Millard sitting on the cowling of a Hurricane, taken in late 1940?
