    Default Alan R. WINTER, 80364

    Good Morning,

Alan R. Winter was a Rhodesian pilot who served with 616 Sqn in 1941-42. He survived the war, and I was wondering with which units he served with until the end of the war.

    Any idea?

    TIA

    Phil

    Phil, Hi,
Yr man Enlisted (778566) in Rhodesia and was Commissioned (80364) on 1 May 42. Now, unusually, there seems to have been a block of RAFVR Officer's Numbers in the 80xxx series that contained a large number of Rhodesians. 6 of my Commissioned (ex-Rhodesia) Met Officers are (sequentially) in that block. I have been able to 'follow' them in the LG right up until when they Relinquished their Commissions on return to SRAF. However, yr man only has 3 entries (that I can find!!!). You may have to go 'mining' in the LG for Officer Numbers a few either side of yr man to see if that coughs up any results.
