    Hello,

    No! Not OK.

When using dates in titling, and elsewhere, keep them exactly as Henk used them. ie 25-9-1943 - no additional zeroes , 09, etc.

You need to keep the losses in their rough geographical area, and as separate items. ie, Algeria and Tunisia - Middle East, and Pakistan - Far East. Other locations, as they are usually one-offs, are generally treated as separate items also, otherwise the listing will become unwieldy.

The following are all in Lutterworth district, I'll suspect a large OTU bomber or coastal crash.
    Farrell*Charles A 20
    Gibby*William*23
    Meyrick*Granville*22
    SMART*Eric S 24
    Wolff*Harold J*22
    WHITAKER*Joseph*23
    Townsend*Ronald R*26

    From googling Wellington JA448

If its in Chorley, good and well I dont own a copy. We can edit delete the names if they are contained therein.

    Hello Col,
Re your post 2, If I had separated them would'nt that bring about several threads with the same date. Did Henk do that ?

Sorry I missed volume 7, yes it is Wellington X JA448, page 251.

Thanks angelsonfive for the Mk XII of 3 FTU.

    Alex,

Yes it does involve separate items - just as Henk did it. If you want to continue Henk's work, try and forget your own personal whims and fancies. Henk had a set, and established way of doing things. The only substantial addition to his work, was the introduction (at Dennis' behest), of a date system for indexing purposes. Alter them if you wish, but why change something that has stood the test of time.

Understand, none of this is an implied criticism of you personally. More power to your arm for giving it a go. Others seem reluctant to do so.

We gave up the separet geographic postings during Henks time, check the index, the names need only be grouped within the initial posting.

Re: Personal Whims and Fancies ?

My only intension was to help revive Henk's threads.

I think I did that without insulting anyone.

Alex, lf you do it your way, it will be your work, not Henk's. You haven't offended or insulted anyone, least of all me.
