    Hi Alex,

thanks for posting of "Henks Legacy" - it remembers me old times when I was trying fo "dig out" some new info on the internet or elsewhere.

Unfortunately this time I am not able to add anything new except few bits and pieces:

William George GREGORY - got his AFM in fact posthumously according to the date in the LG as 1.1.1944...

Norman Harpham DIXON - photos from his funeral on 2nd Oct 1943 are in TNA:

Never mind, had the wrong date there and prepared work is on the work laptop

There are three men in Ramleh for that date, all associated with 1 ADU (Aircraft Delivery Unit)
GREGORY, WILLIAM GEORGE Flight Sergeant 901276
    PARKER, CLIFFORD Flying Officer 130865
WILLIAMS, DONALD JOHN Pilot Officer 157434

The files Paul sent me from Henk couldn't assign an aircraft to them.

There was also on Henk's list
WARBURTON, RONALD Flight Lieutenant 87402 GRO listing him with 75 OTU, and listed as a Pupil Pilot by CWGC. I only now see that RNZAF L T Baker of 70 OTU is also buried in Fayid for this date.
A 70 OTU Baltimore FA202 crashed on this date, I presume they are related.

I cannot make head nor tail of most of this any more, can't tell from his own spreadsheets what Henk might have called unaccounted or not.

    Default 430929 - unaccounted Airmen - 29-9-1943

    Hello Dennis,

My thoughts are that Henk looked at it as unaccounted if there was no Unit shown and/or if there was no aircraft or other known reason for the death available to him.

This is how for me at least how I approached the subject in the new threads.

I first checked the RAF ( I am for now only looking at RAF names) names in CWGC and Geoff's sites and first eliminated the known POW's, then looked and eliminated those that were recorded with a known Unit, checked the names on line for any details ( for me this was not all that helpfull ) if I found anything on them at all that drew to a Unit or reason for death or aircraft involved then the name was accounted for.
Those left were Unaccounted for and I entered their names on the forum.

    Hope this helps,
    Alex

What had you for Warburton for example?

The process is exactly as I expect but their are differences. Also the Casualty lists and their KOAS DOAS are the important info, I feel at least.

Have you been given Henks giles?

Dixon for example does not appear in Henks spreadsheet but Ive not checked if he is DOAS. I don't always find that Henks searches of flight magazine returned the correct status.

    Found Dixon was DOAS listed.

I just have bugger all time to be doing this now.

F1180 confirms Baker and Warburton as only 2 fatalities on FA202. Baker was instructor, Warburton pupil.

Unit for FA202 listed as RAF Station.

The No.1 ADU aircraft for Parker was Beaufighter but the serial after X is unreadable on the F1180.
