    Registered at North Bucks.

    Spitfire PR IV Crashed at Radstone turning, A43, Whitfield, Brackley 16/2/1943 .

    My notes say a/c was abandoned.

    The reason for this is a query re

    R7042 Air Britain Aeromilitaria says what you have 'Crashed at Radstone turning, A43, Whitfield, Brackley 16/2/1943' Sgt J F Power Killed Note J F Power


    But another source says

    "Dived into ground near Turweston Bucks at 11.00h due to unknown causes while on a high level cross country flight to Whitby (probably oxygen problems)" - Which would tie in with where J P Powers was registered

    Anyway they are close enough locations to be the same incident with your details being more detailed

    From 541 Sqn ORB. R7042 dived into the ground 2 mls N of Turweston. Sgt J P POWER killed. The Spitfire was referred to as a Mk PR "D". Date 16/2/43.
