Default RAFVR badges, wearing of to cease

Thought this snippet of information might be of some interest to Board members, although if it has already appeared before, I apologize unreservedly! This is copied verbatim from RNZAF Routine Order 737/43 of 8/9/43, although it is a reprint of AMO A572/43 of unknow date, but probably only a few weeks previously. Reason for publishing this in New Zealand was that there were quite a number of these individuals serving with the RNZAF on loan.

DISTINGUISHING BADGES FOR WEAR BY OFFICERS AND AIRMEN OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE VOLUNTEER RESERVE. With effect from the date of this Order, the wearing of the distinguishing badge (VR) for Officers, Warrant Officers and Airmen of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve is to cease.

The abolition of the 'VR' badge, is discussed in Jefford:

Observers and Navigators and other non-pilot aircrew in the RFC, RNAS and RAF.
Jefford, C G. MBE, BA, RAF (Retd.).
    Shrewsbury:Airlife,2001.
    p.187.
