    603 lost Spitfire L1050 on training flight in Midlothian. One casualty but I don't have a name. Could that be it?

    Yes he was on L1050

    Bart,
    P/O MacKenzie may have been on board Spitfire L1050, 603 Sqn, which crashed near Balerno, SW of Edinburgh, on this date. His service number indicates that he transferred from the Auxilliary Air Force to the RAF.
