I couldn't find Raymond in Flight magazine listings, woudl have expected him to be DOAS.

His probate Calender entry gives no place or reason for death, i.e. it does not say it was 'due to war service'. His home address was in Houghton le Spring, Co. Durham. But, the estate was not sorted out until 1945 so maybe there is somethign to be read into that. Still, no trade listed so I woudl doubt it was 'service' related in the sense of a crash.
