Default WW2 RAF 62 Repair and Salvage Unit

    Hello,

I'm trying to find out some information about my grandfather's activities during WW2. I have his RAF service record, which puts him in Ceylon from 27 April 1942 through to 14 May 1945 when he went home.

He was serving with 62 Repair and Salvage Unit in this time period, but I am unable to find out any information about this specific unit, other than the R&S units were to deal with downed airplanes.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or offer any information about the 62 unit?

    Thanks,

    Phil Newman
