    Took off Hurn 0143, in transit to Rabat Sale, Morocco, North Africa. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it did not reach its destination.

    No.45 (AT) Group, Ferry Command.
    Mitchell II FW159

    Took off 0756Z from Goose Bay, Labrador for Reykjavik, Iceland. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to arrive at its destination. An air-sea search was instituted but no trace of the missing aircraft or crew were found. The Mitchell was also carrying 100lb of U.S. Mail.
