Re 1575 and 1609 were these closed until say 2023 until your FOI request ? If so what did you say in FOI request ?

Note both are now open and available at Kew

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

I can't recall the date they were restricted until now but it was a few years off. I just went through the normal FoI procedure, I don't think I asked any specific. I believe that they reviewed the files and censored anything they deemed restricted.

In the Mycroft file all they had censored were the names of a few shepherds, the names I knew anyway from my local research.

In the Glover file they censored the name of the 'A' Flight commander, which was easy to work out from the unit ORB, and a couple of witnesses, mainly the fitters and riggers who attended to the aircraft before it took off.

    Hello

I echo Martin's thanks for the various posts with references. It looks like checking the casualty packs will be a never ending task... I haven't finished yet accessing my "wish list" for the first 3 transfers to the public domain...

    Keep up the good work

    Joss

Please can anybody tell me where they are up to chronologically ?

Is there a link I could use to access the website periodically to find the latest pack dates ?

    thanks for your help
    Peter
