I totally mis-interpreted the opening message in the thread thinking they were all members of the same crew and have some humble pie to eat. Does "Bullock and Noy are both on page 11b/446 of the Merioneth S district register" suggest they were fellow crew members and because the two Canadians are on the same page is why you referred me back to the old thread ?

I will need to report back to the next Research Group meeting in January to see if the Society is willing to order a copy of the Form 1180 crash report.

I had picked up his enlistment and commissioning dates from a local press report.

That would be the implication of the above exchange, pending confirmation.

All four airmen if killed on site at the aircraft crash would all be registered as died on consecutive spaces on the local death register, in this case all four are on the one page of the register - you can check the index at freebmd.org.uk.

Whilst reading an extract of a page from RAF Sgt Ronald Valentine WESTMORE's log book, he kept a photo of four WOP's including himself, one of the others being a Ron Schneer. Adjacent he wrote: "Ron Schneer crashed into the sea on a trip the day after Boxing Day 1943!"

At this time the two had been posted with 7 AOS to Bishopscourt.

So for Anson DG972, Hudson and Scarlett also add R S Schneer 1684911.
Also, RCAF Frank Campbell BUSHFIELD must have been on board per this listing but with some small errors. Bishopscourt is in Northern Ireland.

BULLOCK, Frederick Roger - P/O (Pilot) - 159875 and
NOY, Henry John - Sgt (WoP/A/G) - 1376327 - the R.C.A.F. service records of P/O J. Mcintosh RCAF J/28869 include a copy of the Proceedings of the Court of Inquiry, which lists the following four crew of Anson EF953:

F. R. Bullock - pilot
H. J. Noy - Staff W.O.P.
J. A McIntosh R.C.A.F. - Nav U/T
J. W. Butcher R.C.A.F. - Nav U/T

The Court found that the Anson was returning to base after a nine leg air plot exercise, but struck high ground in poor weather 2 miles N.N.E. of Barmouth at 5.00 p.m.. The Court recorded that the primary cause was an error by the pilot and navigator, who had measured his track from an air position, rather than D.R., putting the aircraft south of track.

GOODRIDGE, William George - AC1c - 1450148 - the Magdalen Hill Cemetery Register records that he died at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
