Hi

BUTCHER, Kenneth Henry - Cpl - registered in Cuckfield.
MILLS-ROBERTS, Iorwerth J ("Jim") - Cpl - registered in Biggleswade (possibly connected to Smith from the previous day?).
RAMBERT, Louis George - AC2 - registered in Rugby.
READ, Albert Le Gordon - LAC - not Eng/Wales?.
THOMSON, Maurice - Cpl - registered in Bromsgrove.
CANADA
BROADHURST, John - LAC - killed whilst flying in Harvard II, AJ889 of No 37 SFTS, which crashed at Red Deer after flying into power cables.
ROSEWELL, Kenneth Henry - Sgt (Pilot) - lled whilst flying in Harvard II, AJ889 of No 37 SFTS, which crashed at Red Deer after flying into power cables.
No record of AJ889 serving with the RCAF, but I have a crash recorded for AJ899 on 10 January 1944, while with 37 SFTS. The RAF Schools were often late with RCAF paperwork, the 10 January 1944 date may just be the date the RCAF report was filed.
The following all appear listed as Died on Active service in various casualty communiques
http://ww2irishaviation.com/DOASandWAAF1944.htm
Butcher, Read, Turner, Mills-Roberts,
The AM casualty communique names the latter as
Cpl. I J M Roberts
No mention of M Thomson
Dennis Burke

Hello
Not sure why I hadn't come across these before when I was going throught the lists a while back, but:
MILLS-ROBERTS, Iorwerth J ("Jim") - Cpl - 1199445 - the Bedfordshire Times of January 14th 1944 reported the inquest into his death. The article records that his death was due to a fractured skull, sustained when he fell from his bicycle on a steep hill the previous evening. There were no witnesses, and the Coroner was of the opinion that the cycle had hit the kerb on a very steep section of the hill, causing the crash. Mills-Roberts was attached to the Repair and Inspection Section of "a Bedfordshire Air Force Station."
A verdict of Accidental death was recorded.
BUTCHER, Kenneth Henry - Cpl - 924312 - the Mid Sussex Times of janaury 19th 1944 reported the inquest into his death. It records that he died in Hurstwood Park Hospital, Haywards Heath, due to injuries sustained when his bicycle collided with an Army staff car, which was turning into a side road off the Canterbury road. A verdict of Accidental death was recorded.
Regards
Simon
