    Default 215 Squadron Jessore 1943

    Hello,

I'm trying to find out as much as I can about my Grandfather FL Lionel R. Cowling. I know he flew with 215 Squadron out of Jessore and was killed on the 27th November 1943. I've found one record of him in a flight of seven aircraft (Operation Target He Ho) on the 24th April 1943.
I also have some photographs of what I think may be his funeral which I will gladly post up or email to any interested parties (this will be in a couple of weeks when I get my main PC back up & running).
Many thanks in advance for any help.
    Simon

Hi Simon - A very old thread and with no activity since but I'm hoping you might get this! I'm the historian of Holsworthy Museum - once home to your Grandfather and to the Cowling family. Would love to hear from you - I have some information regarding Lionel which might be of interest and, hopefully, you might be able to help me complete a biography of your grandfather for an upcoming booklet.

Hope to hear from you. Shawn

    Shawn,

I took the liberty of dropping Simon an email.

    Hopefully, he'll be in touch.

    Regards,
